Last updated: October 2026
Mersey Mind CPD ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or book our training, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Mersey Mind CPD is a continuing professional development training provider based in Liverpool, run by Brian Jones and Paul Nairn. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at merseymind@outlook.com.
What information we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number
- Professional details: your role or profession
- Booking details: the course you book, the rate you choose, payment records and attendance
- Access and dietary needs: any information you choose to tell us so we can make reasonable adjustments
- Correspondence: messages and enquiries you send us, including on behalf of an organisation
- Mailing list: your name and email address, if you sign up
We collect this information directly from you when you complete a form on this website, email us, or book through Eventbrite.
How and why we use it
- To manage your booking, confirm your place, send joining details and issue your CPD certificate. Our lawful basis is the performance of a contract with you.
- To reply to your enquiries. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.
- To send you news about upcoming courses, only if you have opted in. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
- To make reasonable adjustments. Information about access needs may include health information. We only use it to support your attendance, with your explicit consent, and we share it only with the venue where this is necessary.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as needed. These include our email provider, our website host (Netlify, which receives and stores the details you send us through the forms on this website), our mailing list provider, Eventbrite (if you book through Eventbrite, its own privacy policy also applies) and, where necessary, training venues. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Some of these providers, including Netlify, are based in the United States or store information there. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Booking and attendance records: up to 6 years, so we can reissue CPD certificates and meet accounting requirements
- Enquiries and correspondence: up to 2 years, unless they lead to a booking
- Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe
- Access and dietary information: deleted after the course has taken place
How we keep it safe
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including password-protected accounts and devices, and limiting access to the people who need it.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google in the process. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
- ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation
To use any of these rights, email merseymind@outlook.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
